Who runs this website

IME Marine Group is the name under which four companies work: International Marine Experts, Bierman Pautt & Associates, Bright North Corp. and International Seafarers Training Institute. The Group runs this website from its head office at Building No. 0750 B-D, Williamson Place, La Boca, Balboa, Ancón, Panama, Republic of Panama.

By using the website you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use it.

What this website is for

The website describes the services of the four companies, where they are provided and the credentials that back them. That information is general and is not an offer.

A service is contracted only when the company that provides it confirms it in writing. From then on the service is governed by that company's quotation, engagement letter or contract, and by its conditions of service, not by this page. Each company contracts and answers for its own services; the page of each service names the company that provides it.

What this website is not

• It is not a survey report, a certificate or a professional opinion. Nothing on the website replaces the report or the certificate issued for a specific job, and it must not be relied on as if it did.
• It is not legal advice. Reading the pages of Bierman Pautt & Associates, or writing to the firm through the forms, does not make you its client. That relationship begins only when the firm accepts your matter in writing.
• The articles in Insights are general information as at the date printed on each one. Regulations change: check the rule in force, or ask us, before you act on an article.

Coverage and response times

The port finder, the office details and the response times describe how the Group normally works. Attendance at a given port on a given date is confirmed by the office that takes the job.

We aim to reply to the forms within 24 to 48 hours. The forms are not for emergencies: if a vessel needs attention now, call the office that serves the port or the head office in Panama, on the 24/7 numbers listed in Global Network and in Contact.

Credentials

The accreditations, authorisations and memberships on this website are shown with the body that issued them and with the number, scope and validity we hold on record. The issuing body is the authority on their current status. Confirm with it before you rely on a credential for a decision.

Using the forms

When you use a form, you agree to:

• Give information that is true, and that you are entitled to share, including the data of other people such as crew members.
• Send nothing unlawful, and no file that could damage our systems.
• Not send forms by automated means.
• Make speak-up reports in good faith. A report made in good faith is welcome even if it is not confirmed afterwards.

What we do with the data you send is set out in the Privacy notice.

Intellectual property

The texts, photographs, design, names and logos of IME Marine Group and its companies belong to them or are used with permission. You may read, print and link to any page, and quote short passages if you name the source. Any other use, including reproducing the logos or republishing the content, needs our written permission.

The names and marks of accreditation bodies, maritime administrations and other organisations belong to their owners and appear here only to identify them.

Acceptable use

You must not try to reach parts of the website that are not public, interfere with how it works, copy its content by automated means in a way that burdens it, or use its content to suggest that the Group endorses you or works with you when it does not.

Links to other websites

The website links to pages we do not control. We are not responsible for their content or for how they handle your data.

Liability

We take care to keep this website accurate and current, but it is provided as is, with no guarantee that it is complete, up to date or always available. As far as the law allows, IME Marine Group and its companies are not liable for loss that arises from using the website or from relying on its content.

Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not allow to be limited, or the responsibility of a company of the Group under the contract for a service it provides. If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.

Law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Panama. Any dispute about the use of this website will be heard by the courts of the Republic of Panama, unless the law of your country gives you a right that cannot be waived.
