When you need it
- 01
A vessel is bought
The buyer's lawyer registers her at closing, with the bank registering its mortgage and the seller delivering the deletion certificate.
- 02
A newbuilding is delivered
The vessel is registered for her delivery voyage and first trading.
- 03
The vessel changes flag or is chartered bareboat
Bareboat registration, or a change of registry from another flag.
- 04
The ownership is restructured
A new owning company, a change of name or a change of ownership.
What the registration includes

Resident agent
Bierman Pautt & Associates as the resident agent the owner is required to appoint: the firm files the applications, pays the fees and receives the notices.

Documents
The power of attorney, the bill of sale, the deletion certificate from the previous registry, the builder's certificate, the technical certificates, the tonnage certificate and the application for the radio licence, gathered and checked before filing.

Provisional patent and radio licence
The provisional patent of navigation and the provisional radio licence, with which the vessel can trade.
04
Permanent patent
The permanent patent, once the registration is complete.

Statutory documents after registration
The certificates and documents the vessel needs once she is registered.
